Apples
- 6 apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp Apples washed and dried, stems removed
Candy Coating
- 2 cups Jolly Rancher Hard Candies separated by color
- 2 tablespoons Water per batch of Jolly Ranchers
Optional Toppings
- as needed Edible Glitter or Shimmer Dust optional, for sparkle
Wash apples thoroughly, dry completely, and remove stems. Insert a wooden stick or colorful straw into the top of each apple.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan, heat about 1/2 cup of Jolly Ranchers (one color at a time) with 2 tbsp water over medium heat. Stir until melted and smooth.
Carefully dip each apple into the melted candy, swirling it to coat the apple evenly. Let any excess drip off.
Place the coated apples on the prepared baking sheet and let the candy coating set. Optional: Once the first layer sets, drizzle a second color over the top for a rainbow effect.
If desired, sprinkle with edible glitter while the candy coating is still sticky. Allow the apples to cool and harden fully before serving, about 15-20 minutes.
Pro Tips:
* Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for a balance of tart and sweet.
* Be patient when allowing the candy coating to set; it needs time to harden properly.
* For a fun rainbow effect, layer different candy colors.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. Avoid refrigerating, as it can cause the candy coating to sweat.
